Free day grayling fly fishing for women anglers on the Derbyshire Wye later in October 2014

If you are interested in a free day fly fishing for grayling on a beautiful river and you are a woman angler this could be an event to attend.
The Wye in Derbyshire, near Bakewell, is a river I regularly fish. It is clear, beautiful, easy access and full of fish. The wild rainbow trout will still be active, but clearly, we will be targeting the grayling. There is no wading in the river so a long handled landing net is a good idea.
Tuesday 28th October 2014 is the day we have arranged. But if the weather is awful it will need to be rescheduled.
We are hoping for women fishers who are new to river fishing, able fishers or any stage in between. If you don’t have any equipment, let us know and we should be able to get you fishing.
Support and advice will be available. Though if you have not learnt to cast a line this may not be a day to learn, though you are welcome to come along and watch. You could have a go, casting safely without a hook on the line. Bring your Polaroid’s and a cap with a brim or peak.
If you intend fishing and don’t have an environment agency licence you can get one quite cheaply for the day. Check out ‘Licence to fish’ page to see how to proceed. You cannot fish a river without a licence.

Please pass on this message to anyone you know who might like to participate.

Free day fly fishing for grayling for women anglers on the Derbyshire Wye

Thanks for those of you who were able to attend our river walk on the Lathkill on the 9th September 2014 with river keeper Jan.
We had perfect weather, Jan gave some very clear and informative thoughts on his work and the river and its environs.
As an added bonus he has also the offered Women anglers a free day fly fishing for grayling on the Derbyshire Wye.
We will do a weather check a few days before, but currently suggesting a day next week, depending on the take up. Tuesday 14th, Wed 15th or Thursday 16th October 2014. Please contact me if you would like to join us. You do not have to be a member of the group to attend. In fact we are not, as yet, any kind of formal group.
Email 1womanflyfishing@gmail.com with all the dates you can attend out of the three please, so I can select the most appropriate. Or post a response on this blog post to show an interest.
